Our Story
Pencwm Escapes began as a family dream (and a bit of a wild idea).
In 2024, we packed up our life in Oxford and headed west, swapping city streets for winding lanes and mountain views. After years in healthcare and office work, we were ready for a new chapter. One that let us slow down, get our hands dirty, and build something meaningful for our girls.
What started as a vision soon became a full-on project. We rolled up our sleeves, cleared brambles, repaired fences, learned how to run a campsite (the hard way). We discovered muscles we didn’t know we had. It’s been hard work — but worth every moment.
With my husband working remotely, my parents joining the adventure, and a growing menagerie of ducks, chickens, cats, and our old lurcher Toby by our side, Pencwm Escapes has truly become a family affair.
We’re proud members of the Greener Camping Club, offering a low-impact, members-only stay that lets you enjoy nature without leaving a trace.
Now, our small, family-run campsite sits tucked away in the foothills of the Preseli Mountains. Its a place to breathe, unwind, and make memories under big Welsh skies.
